Avocado and Chocolate – Make your own smooth, creamy and decadent chocolate spread in just minutes. If you don’t tell, no one will ever know that it’s a mix of avocado and cacao powder. It’s simply delicious, Avocado Chocolate Sauce.
The other day I went to the fridge for some chocolate spread and there wasn’t any. No problem, I’ll just make some with chocolate chips, wait, I don’t have any. Now what? Still dressed in my stay at home wear, I was not prepared to get dressed to go to the store. Suddendly I had that light bulb moment, just make it using my last avocado and some cacao powder.
I only needed a small amout so the fact that I only had one avocado was perfect. I simply threw everything in the processor and in minutes I had myself a smooth and creamy chocolate spread.
I sweetened the chocolate with maple syrup and added a small amount of vanilla and a pinch of sea salt to balance out the flavors. For me there was no avocado taste, just a wonderful taste of chocolate.
I made these super delicious open face strawberry sandwiches using this decadent Avocado Chocolate Sauce for an afternoon snack. So if you ever find yourself in need of a chocolate sauce or spread, give this one a try.

Oh, my mind is racing with the things I can do with this sauce on! I would start with my salad. Yep! Pour it on my greens with lots of fruit. Delish!
That is such a great idea! I’ll have to give it a try.
We just finished the first batch of this and my other half just asked me “please tell me we have another avocado to make more?”.
Oh my, I’m so glad you are enjoying it as much as I do. A blogger friend of mine said she is going to try it on a salad. I think I will give it a try this week, if it goes well I’ll share here on the blog. It really is some good stuff.

Looks so good but avocados are so expensive at the moment so not sure I’ll try it yet. I like the fat it’s full of good fats.

Well it’s official, I’m in love with this recipe! YUMMO! What a clever way to pair cocoa and avocado. I can’t wait to make this 🙂
Thanks Sammi, Beware this stuff is so addicting.
Man, your mind and palette amaze me! I never would have come up with this, not in a million years! I can see this used in a trifle, or layered dessert with fruit. Or as an after school snack with apples and bananas. On that great baked oatmeal recipe you shared! Endless options!

Nikki you have to give this a try it is the best stuff. You don’t even taste the avocado, just chocolate. The fat from the avocado gives it so much creaminess. And it the good fat.
oh my…I never try this before but it looks super delicious. We love the bold and rich taste of avocado
This is one of the best ways to eat chocolate. It can be paired with almost anything. I hope you give a try, so easy to make.
My family could find so many ways to enjoy this creamy chocolate delight! I am so thrilled that you shared your healthy and delectable Avocado Chocolate spread at the Healthy Happy Green Natural Party. I’m Pinning and sharing this!

Have a wonderful weekend.
I’ve seen several versions of this online but yours was one that stood out to me. Though we can’t put ours on toast like yours (my son can’t have gluten), here’s my version of the chocolate sauce, inspired by you! We love it! http://rangelrascals.com/2017/06/02/avocado-chocolate-dip-recipe-review/

Thanks
Hi, I’m not a vegetarian, vegan or particularly healthy eater…..I do however like to try out new things, I found the last Avocado reduced in my supermarket today…54p so I thought I’d give this a try….you said 5 minutes, I don’t think it was even that long, and now I have a pot of creamy healthy and tasty spread in the fridge ready to have on pancakes in the morning !
Julie I am so glad you are enjoying this healthier version of chocolate sauce. I may just have to make a batch and have pancakes or waffles for breakfast.
Just a shame it didn’t keep very well….great to use as a cake filling or topping as it made so much…I’d make half the amount next time….. I had to throw a lot of it away, and with maple syrup being so expensive, I doubt it’ll be made too often x
If I use avocado oil from a bottle, how much do I use instead of using an avocado? Thanks so much!
