Ingredients

  • 1 12 oz. can tomato paste
  • ¼ cup apple cider vinegar
  • 1 cup water
  • 2 tablespoons liquid smoke
  • 2 tablespoons molasses
  • 2 tablespoon spicy mustard
  • 2 teaspoon worcestershire sauce anchovy free
  • 2 teaspoons cocoa powder
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • ½ teaspoon cayenne powder optional
  • 2 ½ tablespoon turbinado sugar
  • salt to taste

Instructions

  • In a medium saucepan, over medium heat, mix together all of the ingredients.
  • Bring to a boil, then reduce heat to low and simmer 15 to 20 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  • Serve immediately or store in an airtight glass container.
If you like you can freeze the sauce in ½ or 1 cup batches in freezer zip bags.
